My Poor Little iPod March 21, 2009

My poor little iPod, it’s been through many a music obsession. It stuck with me through my Britney Spears “OMGEEE, CIRCUS IS THE BEST SONG EVAR!” phase, didn’t complain when I overloaded it with the rollicking good times of Hot Hot Heat and the Rapture, and didn’t put up a fight when I delved into the dark side, I’m telling you people now, Mindless Self Indulgence is a gateway band that leads you to no where good.

But now I am hankering for new music to fill my quiet days. Lately I’ve noticed that I am not absolutely in love with all the songs on my iPod, so I’ve been putting my songs through my music test. My method is simple.  I open my iTunes library and play each song for about 30 seconds, if I get the urge to switch songs before time is up then I delete that song. I do this periodically to keep my iPod up to date and reflecting my musical tast which changes quiet often.

Coincidentally, I happen to love Datarock

Coincidentally, I happen to love Datarock

*UPDATE*

I’m going to have to do these by letter…turns out I had a lot more music than I thought!

Stone Garden Girl

-Prompt-

You are this little girl. What are you doing?
Perhaps this girl is a stranger in your garden. What does she want?

The little girl stopped skipping and sat down in a particularly grassy part of the garden. Her bright green eyes jumped (sparkled?) with mischievousness and her freckled nose crinkled as she took a deep sniff of the vivid red flower she had clutched in the hand. The flowers sweet scent must’ve delighted her because she broke out in a wild toothy grin.

This little girl wore a floppy pink hat and a lavender dress that floated around her. Her outfit was completed by a wide string of pearls around her neck, obviously stolen from her grandmother’s closet. She stood up, abandoning her post in the grass and started to stroll around the garden at a leisurely pace.

She wandered freely, chasing bunny rabbits, following butterflies, and picking flowers. Finally, she walked a beaten path up to the manor, gathering flowers all the way. Once she reached the manor gates she looked down at the treasures she held clutched in her hand. She smiled to herself as she sat on a small stool and began to work on the world’s longest daisy chain.

That’s my 10 minutes of writing for today =] Yep, it’s pretty short and has no ending, but do I really care? No!

That sounds good for me. I always seem to be flirting with a potential eating disorder.

Happy New Year! December 28, 2007

Congratulate yourself now. You made it another year. =] Here’s to a great ‘08.

So how was everyone’s Christmas? Hopefully everyone had a great time with their family and friends. In other news, if you are feeling charitable,  you can raise money for your favorite charity by using Good Search. It is just like Google but it raises money for the charity of your choice. Every time you search the internet or buy something online they’ll make make a donation to your charity. I’m using it for the Juvenile Diabetes Association. So the next time you need a new search engine and want to help Good Search is a good place to go to.

So In Other Words… December 10, 2007

What? No Rudolph?

It’s that time of year! Ringing bells on every street corner, old movie on television every night, and cookies. (I LOVE the cookies) It’s my favorite time of year. I’ll never understand how some people could possibly hate the holidays. But aside from the cookies, there is something else I love about th holidays. I also love visiting other people’s houses and seeing the things they do to bring in the holidays.

Yesterday my little sister & I were at the mall. There was the longest line of kids waisting to sit in Santa’s lap and tell him what they wanted. I love the magical-ness (Yes, I know it’s not a real word) of the holiday season. I particularly enjoy the Hanukkah celebrations. My good friend Jane taught me how to play dreidel for gelt last year. It’s pretty fun and who can turn away free chocolates? And latkes & donuts? Not me, that’s for sure.

So whatever you happen to be celebrating this year; wheather it be Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or maybe even Candlemas, have a happy holiday & a great new year.
